Rebecca Block '26 Named Delco Daily Times Field Hockey Player of the Year
Center-mid Rebecca Block '26 played an outstanding senior field hockey season with 32 goals and 13 assists.
She was selected as the Inter-Ac MVP and has been named Delco Daily Times Player of the Year as well as Max Field Hockey High School Player of the Year.
The two-sport athlete is reflective about her four years playing EA varsity field hockey. "Over these past three years, I’ve definitely developed a lot more confidence to take things down the field myself. I feel like I can really take control," Rebecca explained to the Delco Daily Times.
She helped lead the team to a 19-3 season record and #2 national ranking by Max Field Hockey, and is now competing on the international stage on the USAFH U18 national team and competes on the USA Field Hockey Indoor National Team.
“Every one of these opportunities is so big for me because I haven’t had a lot of experience there,” explained Rebecca. “I definitely think that all these attributes in our senior season have definitely helped me have more confidence when I go there. But I just think over the past few years, I’ve definitely developed more confidence in myself, because I used to not have that.”
Rebecca is joined on the All-Delco First Team by teammate Eliana DeGennaro '26.
Rebecca competes on the swim team in the winter season. She will continue her field hockey playing career at Cornell University.
