Kailin Gao '25 is Main Line Student of the Week

Kailin Gao '25 plays first chair flute, serves as a student conductor, and is an accomplished dancer. She has been selected Main Line Student of the Week.

In the fall, Kailin was awarded the Brown University Book Award and was an inductee into the Cum Laude Society. She is also a Silver and Gold Key Scholastic Art and Writing medalist.

"I believe the best art should evoke emotion and tell a personal story," explained Kailin. "My winning pieces include a photograph that captured movement during a ballet rehearsal and poems using my grandparents’ teeth as a metaphor for their stories about 20th-century China. These influences shaped my life and made me who I am, and these pieces reflect my identity."

Kailin leads EA's Mandarin Club and competes in international dance competitions.
