Honoring Our Retiring Faculty and Staff

Four members of The Episcopal Academy community will retire at the end of the school year with a combined 66 years of service.

"Our retiring faculty and staff have given so much of themselves to this community," said Greville Haslam Head of School Dr. T.J. Locke, Hon. "We thank them for their commitment and the care they have shown our students each day and wish them every happiness in retirement."

Retirees will be recognized during EA's end-of-year faculty and staff closing dinner.

Sue King: 10 Years

Sue King, who has played a vital role in connecting EA and its parent community for the past 10 years, will retire at the end of this school year. From her early involvement as a dedicated parent volunteer and EAPA President to her work as EAPA Coordinator, Sue has been the driving force behind countless events, initiatives, and communications. Her exceptional attention to detail and organization have ensured that everything runs seamlessly, often behind the scenes. A trusted advisor to EAPA leadership and a steadfast supporter of parent volunteers, Sue's humility and commitment have left a lasting mark on our community. You will be missed, Sue!

Jim Erwin: 12 Years

After bringing joy, energy, and passion to EA's music program for the past 12 years, Jim Erwin will retire at the end of this school year. As a teacher, conductor, and Music Department Chair, Jim has built a choral program defined by excellence, inclusivity, and heart. His ability to inspire students to perform with both confidence and genuine delight has made each performance something special. By encouraging every student to find their voice, he has created a program where connection and growth go hand in hand. His impact will continue to resonate in the lives of his students and throughout our community. Congratulations, Jim!

Anne Neilson: 20 Years

After 20 years of dedicated service in the Turner Lower School Library, Anne Neilson will retire at the end of this school year. Anne has helped shape the library into a vibrant and organized hub where students feel known and supported. Greeting each child by name and always ready to lend a hand, she has built meaningful relationships with generations of students. Her calm, kind, and consistent approach, paired with a strong work ethic and sense of humor, has made her an essential part of the Lower School community, and her contributions will be felt for years to come. Kathleen Foster: 24 Years

After 24 years of dedicated service to EA, Kathleen Foster will retire at the end of this school year as she and her family relocate to California. A teacher through and through, Kathleen has brought energy, humor, and a deep love of learning to the Lower School classroom each day. She is known for holding students to high standards while creating an environment filled with encouragement and joy. Kathleen builds lasting connections with her students, often following and celebrating their accomplishments long after they leave her classroom. Her enthusiasm, authenticity, and love of teaching have made her a memorable part of the Lower School community. You will be missed, Kathleen!
