More than 70 Middle School musicians performed at the annual Music in the Parks festival on Friday, May 17, at Hersheypark.
"We had an excellent showing!" Orchestra Director James Finegan, Hon. proudly stated. "The Orchestra received an Excellent rating and came in first place in their category. The Chamber Orchestra earned both a Superior rating (the highest possible rating) and was chosen as the Best Overall String Group."
Members of the Cantores, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band also performed before a panel of judges who gave constructive feedback on each performance and a total score for each ensemble.
Eighth grader Julia Griffin received special recognition as Overall Vocal Soloist.

This year's performances continued a long-standing tradition of accolades for EA student musicians at the music-filled day that brings together groups from across the region.
