Rebecca Block '26 & Abaas Hunter '26 Earn Inter-Ac Directors' Awards

Student-athletes Rebecca Block '26 and Abaas Hunter '26 were recognized for their outstanding athletic accomplishments with this year's Inter-Ac Directors' awards.

Rebecca played four years of varsity field hockey and was selected Inter-AC MVP, Max Field Hockey and Delco Daily Times Player of the Year. She helped lead the team to a 19-3 season record and #2 national ranking by Max Field Hockey. Rebecca also plays on the USAFH U18 national team and the USA Field Hockey Indoor National Team. She will continue playing field hockey at Cornell University.

"The small league and focus on academics and exploring your other interests definitely set me up well for Cornell," said Rebecca. "I am excited to have games that are very similar to Inter-Ac matchups next year."

Rebecca also competed on the swim team all four years of Upper School.

Abaas had a quick start to launch his EA running career as a freshman, and he hasn't looked back. He currently holds records in the 60m, 100m, 200m, and 400m in both indoor and spring track. Abaas also runs in the 4x200m, 4x400m, and DMR. At the Penn Relays, he helped the 4x400m relay set a school record and win the Inter-Ac Championship race with a 46.38 anchor leg split.

During his EA running career, Abaas set more than 20 records and was the Inter-Ac MVP in 2025, and broke the Delaware County record in the 400m (46.48) this spring.

"I just go out there and run and see what happens most times," shared Abaas. "The Inter-Ac specifically has a lot of great competitors." He will continue to compete at the University of North Carolina.

The EA duo was celebrated along with student-athletes from the other Inter-Ac schools on Wednesday, May 6.
