Middle School musicians spent the day at Hersheypark on Friday, May 20, for the Music in the Parks festival.
"The Middle School Orchestra, Chamber Ensemble, Cantores, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band each performed before a panel of judges who gave constructive feedback on each performance and a total score for each ensemble," explained Band Director Ryan Dankanich. "The ratings for this competition are superior, excellent, good, fair, and poor."
The Orchestra and Chamber Ensemble placed first in their categories and earned 'superior' ratings for their performances, and the Symphonic Band earned a 'superior' rating. Eighth grader Chloe Islam also earned a special recognition as an Outstanding Student Accompanist.
"Congratulations to our dedicated and hard-working Middle School musicians!" said Mr. Dankanich.
