Four members of The Episcopal Academy community will retire at the end of the school year with a combined 123 years of service. Retirees will be recognized during EA's end-of-year faculty and staff closing dinner.
"Our retiring faculty and staff have made such an incredible impact on the EA community," said Greville Haslam Head of School Dr. T.J. Locke. "They exemplify what EA is all about! We send heartfelt thanks for their many contributions, and wish them happiness as they move on to the next chapter in their lives."
Michele Mammele: 23 Years
After 23 years at EA, Michele Mammele will retire in June. As the admission office assistant, Michele has welcomed new and prospective families to our school, helped oversee Key Club, coordinated events, oriented new team members, and so much more. She has approached even the busiest days of the admissions season with calmness and positivity. Please join us in wishing Michele all the best in her retirement!
Joan Giancristoforo: 26 Years
Business Office Coordinator Joan (Joanie) Giancristoforo will retire this June after serving our school for 26 years. Joanie has been instrumental in managing billing practices, student transportation, and more. Her consistent kindness, positive attitude, and willingness to lend a hand were some of the many reasons Joanie earned the inaugural Staff Excellence Award in 2019. Thank you for your service to EA, and best of luck, Joanie!
Tom Greenwood: 37 Years
Please join us in congratulating Middle School English teacher Tom Greenwood, who will retire in June after 37 years of service at EA. A graduate of the EA Class of 1967, Tom strongly embraced the teacher, coach, advisor, mentor model. He formerly served as English department chair and head varsity coach for the boys' indoor and spring track, and continues to serve as assistant coach today. Tom is a recipient of the Class of 1940 Award and Borkowski Coaching Award. Best of luck, Tom!
Lee Billmyer: 37 Years
After 37 years of inspiring our students, Lee Billmyer will retire this spring. Among the many roles Lee has served, which include college counselor, assistant head of Upper School, advisor, and more, she has most loved teaching Honors American Literature and Honors British Literature in Upper School. A 2019-2020 D'Ambrosio Fellow, Lee's excellent teaching skills are matched only by her helpful spirit and love for her students. You will be missed, Lee!
