What is your favorite thing about teaching at EA?
I love the community/other faculty. I love my department, it's rare to find a Classics department as large as ours is and everyone loves to collaborate. It's always a fun time in the Classics office! I love that I have opportunities to get involved in a wide range of activities (SEED, Outward Bound, coaching softball).
Why do you like teaching both Middle and Upper Schoolers?
I love teaching both Middle and Upper School because I get to see the growth of the students over the course of their time with us.
What is your favorite lesson or unit to teach?
I love the 8th grade emperor project, especially the lead up to the Evening with the Emperors. There is so much energy in the air and the students outdo themselves every year.
What do you hope your students take from your class?
I hope they leave with an understanding of education as a toolbox for the future. They might not know when they will need something or how it might show up later in life, but when it does, they will have the tools they need.
