While Jennifer may have known what she wanted to do when she grew up, who knew that she would become one of the most sought-after film editors in Hollywood? While at EA, Jennifer participated in varsity crew and served as a manager for the varsity football team. She was also in the Key Club and Stock Market Club and was a weekly tutor at Bryn Mawr Tutoring. Today, she has served as a film editor on numerous big projects, including Oppenheimer, a box office hit that earned her a Critic’s Choice Award, a BAFTA, and an Oscar.
Post-EA, Jennifer Lame attended Wesleyan University, where she studied under documentary editor Jacob Bricca. She started as an apprentice on films like Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones and Sidney Lumet's Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead. Jennifer quickly ascended the ranks as a feature and television assistant editor. Frances Ha was Jennifer's first feature editing credit, and she continued collaborating with director Noah Baumbach on his releases, including While We’re Young, Mistress America, Meyerowitz Stories, and Marriage Story (nominated for a 2020 Eddie Award). Jennifer also edited Manchester by the Sea, for which she was nominated for an ACE Eddie, BAFTA, and Indie Spirit Award. She joined forces with Ari Aster to edit Hereditary and provided additional editing on Midsommar. Jennifer also edited Ryan Coogler's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for Marvel and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet (2020) and Oppenheimer (2023).
