Boys' XC Wins Inter-Ac Championship

The boys' cross country team ran to victory at the Inter-Ac Cross Country Championships on Monday, Oct. 18.

"The boys' day began with our JV team placing the top nine runners in the JV race," said Coach Jim Farrell '82. "It gave us great momentum going into the varsity race."

EA junior Aidan McHugh crossed the finish line first, with a time of 17:05.80. Teammates Connor Hanrahan '23 placed 3rd (17:46.90), Dakin Ebmeyer '23 was 4th (17:58.40), Nicky Criville '24 placed 5th (17:59.20), followed by James Austin '22 in 8th place (18:09.70).

"We placed five in the top eight and seven in the top 14 in the varsity race," said Coach Farrell. "We are looking forward to the PAISAA meet on Oct. 30."

The team secured the win with 21 points, followed by Malvern Prep (70), and The Haverford School (73). Review the complete results here.

EA's five top finishers were named First Team All Inter-Ac.

A championship race was not held last fall. The boys' team last won the Inter-Ac title in 2019.

This year's race was held at Belmont Plateau.
