The Chapel Theme for the 2019-2022 is Hope Does Not Disappoint

Due to exams, Upper School students did not have Chapel this week. And because of the schedule rotation, Lower School students did not attend Chapel.

Tuesday, May 14 - Finals of Who Wants to Feed Your Form

The Middle School had its second and final day of the 20th annual Who Wants to Feed Your Form chapels. These chapels are based on the game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but instead of competing for cash, the contestants are trying to win 24 pizzas for their grade. Five students made it to the "hot seat." They included- Kate Dante, Maci Metzler, Zack Metzler, Lauren Stasse and Kate Smith. Of these five, two were grand prize winners: Lauren Stasse and Kate Smith. A good time was had by all as we reviewed many of the wonderful events that took place in chapel this year.

An example of a difficult question: This chapel speaker shared that they have always been moved by the power of words. "This passion carried me through college, into my teaching, and into my daily life. I love words because they capture what I see and what I feel. I think what our Chapel theme is saying is to shy away from that which is hollow: empty words and phrases; love in name only." The Chapel speaker who said this is?

  1. Mrs. Knecht
  2. Ms. Legette
  3. Dr. Locke
  4. Mr. Tate

Thursday, May 16 - Logan Schlitt Faith Paper

On Thursday, Logan Schlitt shared her faith paper in Chapel. Logan is a loyal Roman Catholic whose faith both has been challenged and changed through many events, but especially through a seven day hospitalization early this fall. Logan concluded, "I am convinced that my mysterious and unknown illness happened for a reason. I may never know how I got sick or what I had, but I do know it introduced me to a different view on life. This experience taught me the importance of living every day to the fullest. I now wake up knowing that I want to do something meaningful, something that will serve a purpose greater than myself. I want to be there for others during their rough times in the way that the entire community was there for me. I want to spread positivity because that is what kept me fighting and believing in myself. I now work harder in school because I remember my fear of making up work when I returned to school in October. I discovered the joy of dance because I was unable to be on the swim team. This illness opened new doors to new opportunities. God showed me how much more I can be. My faith moved the mountain and introduced me to a new horizon."
