Student Accomplishments Celebrated at Honors Chapel

Upper School students were celebrated for their impressive achievements at Honors Chapel on Thursday, September 20.

"Our annual Honors Chapel is a wonderful way to recognize the hard work and dedication of our students," said Head of Upper School Mike Letts, Hon. "All of our students push themselves to grow and achieve in a variety of areas."

Fourteen students were inducted into the Cum Laude Society, which represents students in the top ten percent of the Class of 2019. Inductees include: Phoebe Barr, Laura Lewis, Lauren Devletian, Amy Chen, Jonathan Huang, Rachel Barber, Bryce Nabulsi, Praneeth Alla, Jessica Hao, Max Pinheiro, Grace Smith, Isabella Calastri, Caitlin Jorgensen, and Parisa Afsharian.

Last week, 12 seniors were named National Merit Semifinalists. This group was also recognized during Honors Chapel.

The George Brinton Phillips Prize for the highest overall grade in physics: Kevin Li '19

The Bryn Mawr College Award in Spanish: Alec Austin '19

The Bryn Mawr College Award in French: Celeste Graham '19

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal-Gold Medal Award for proficiency in science & math: Amy Chen '19

The Paul Thompson Prize for American History: Phoebe Barr '19

The Williams College Alumni Prize for highest scholarship in the rising VI Form: Phoebe Barr '19

The Stephen Hopkins Kalbach Prize: Pia Singh '19
