Seven EA instrumentalists have been selected for the PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators' Association) District 12 Band and Orchestra. Two students were selected for the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) honors and gospel choirs.
"It was a great day for EA's instrumentalists as all seven students earned seats in these honors ensembles," said Music Director Jim Erwin.
Musicians Nick Cerone '22, Ashley Kim '23, Felix Zhu '22, and Jonathan Hong '22 were accepted into the D12 Band.
Eric Cui '23, Grace Zou '23, Michelle Jiang '24, Jonathan Hong, Felix Zhu, and Ashley Kim will perform with the D12 Orchestra.
The Orchestra will rehearse together on Friday, Jan. 14 and perform that evening at Penncrest High School.
The Band will rehearse on Friday, Jan. 28 and perform at a yet to be determine location.
Two EA vocalists have also been accepted into the ACDA Eastern Division High School Honors Choir and High School Gospel Choir.
Sarah Kotapka '23 will sing alto in the Honors Choir. Cate Curatolo '24 will sing soprano with the Gospel Choir. They will rehearse and perform with over 250 select singers from the east coast at the ACDA Eastern Division Conference in Boston Feb. 9th-12.
"Hundreds of choral directors, singing teachers, and parents will be there to cheer them on," said Mr. Erwin.
