Parisa Afsharian '19 was recently recognized for her outstanding service by the non-profit organization Cradles to Crayons for her contributions to the Teen Leadership Corps (TLC).
Along with 25 other TLC members, Parisa participated in a customized training program taught by business executives and community leaders. Students focused on team building, public speaking, and social activism. Parisa put these skills to use at Cradles to Crayons' Conshohocken facility by leading groups of volunteers as they packed items for children in need.
Over ten months, teens in the TLC program served a combined total of 1,356 hours. Parisa logged 68 volunteer hours, making her the second-highest contributor of service time. She was also a top fundraiser for the group, raising $2,890. Combined with her volunteer work at other organizations, Parisa will be eligible for the Presidential Service Award this year.
Parisa is also a member of EA's Community Service Board.
Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization which provides basic essentials to children living in homeless or low-income situations.
