Michael Woolery '24 is 3rd Fastest Freshman Miler in the U.S.

Rising sophomore Michael Woolery clocked in as the fastest freshman in Pennsylvania during the spring track and field season.

That designation qualified Michael for the outdoor national championship race at the University of Oregon in June.

Michael ran to 3rd place at Hayward Field with a time of 4:20.56- the third-fastest freshman time in the country.

"Michael has had a tremendous freshman season. He had a break-out race at Delcos- winning the 3200m race in a time of 9:38. His 1600m time continued to improve throughout the season," explained Coach Jim Farrell '82. "His mile time at nationals translates to a sub 4:20 time for the 1600m, which is the second-fastest 1600m time in school history. Michael had a great race at nationals and he had a great experience at the famous Hayward Field and is looking forward to his sophomore year."
