The Girls' Varsity 4X won 2nd place at the Scholastic Rowing Association of America National Championships Regatta.
Four Episcopal Academy boats qualified for the regatta that was held May 25-26 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
On Saturday, the varsity girls placed first in their heat with a time of 5:25:322 and advanced to the finals (stroke Josephine Konopka '18, Morgan Gantt '19, Allison Lee '19, and Brooke Kraftson '19).
Other races on Saturday included: the Boys JV 4 + (stroke Jack Rebillard '20, Max Levinson '20, Drew Landaiche '19, Nick Peyton '19 and coxswain Juliana Di Carlo '20) which placed fourth in its heat with a time of 5:18.018. The Girls JV 8 + (Lily Haupt '21, Hadley DeBrun '20, Bridget Egan '21, Margot LeRoux '21, Ruth Engelman '21, Mary Cipperman '21, Julia Rushton '21, Mary Grace Konopka '21 and coxswain Hollis DuPont '21) also placed fourth in its heat with a time of 5:29.700. The Boys Varsity 4+ (stroke Ian Reape '20, Harry Pusey '19, Owen Maier '20, Billy Stavropoulos '20 and coxswain Schuyler Kresge '18) placed 2nd in its heat with a time of 5:06.269 and moved on to semi-final competition on Saturday morning.
The Boys' Varsity 4+ was the first boat to race for EA on Saturday. The boat placed 4th in its heat with a time of 5:08.868 and 3rd overall in the Petite Final competition with a time of 5:04:953
Later in the day, the Girls' Varsity 4X won silver with a time of 05:19.462. The varsity girls also won silver the weekend of May 19 at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
Several EA boats will compete in the National Schools' Championship Regatta on June 10 on the Schuylkill River.
