Boys' Varsity 8+ Competes in Henley Royal Regatta

The Henley Royal Regatta celebrates the top rowers in the world. The EA Boys' Varsity 8+ is included in this elite group this year.

The team arrived in England to prepare for the Regatta on Sunday, June 18. They rowed in a qualifying race on June 23 and also competed in the Reading Town Regatta on June 24- where they experienced rowing through three locks.

In between practices, the team has squeezed in some sightseeing- including visits to Windsor and Blenheim Palace.

The team includes: Robbie Copit '19 (coxswain), Will Purtill '17, Nick Horbowy '17, Thomas Woodville '17, Peter LeRoux '17, Kyle Hogan '17, Harry Pusey '19, Colson Andrews '17, and Tim Baker '17.

Alternates include: Luke Giordano '19 and Nicholas Peyton '19.

The team is coached by Molly Konopka, Hon. and Rob Maier.

The Henley Regatta takes place June 28 - July 2.

The Boys' Varsity 8+ qualified for Henley after winning the Scholastic Rowing Association City Championships on May 8.
