Wrestler Blair Orr '18 Marks 151st Career Win

Senior wrestler Blair Orr won his final two regular season matches on Friday, February 9 against William Penn Charter School and The Lawrenceville School. The victories mark 151 career wins at EA for Blair.

"It's a challenging task to complete and that takes more than just skill," explained Blair. "To achieve this I had to stay healthy for four consecutive seasons just to have a chance at 150, and I'm proud of that."

Blair's 151st win came during a first period pin against a Lawrenceville wrestler. "My family and teammates were all cheering, and it is a moment I will cherish for a long time," said Blair. "I couldn't have this type of success without my family, coaches, teammates, and friends who have helped me every step of the way on and off the mat."

Blair started wrestling when he was five years old. "There are many things that I like about the sport of wrestling, from the tough practices that make you better, to getting your hand raised after a match. Although, the thing that I like about the sport is competing. When I'm competing on the mat it's just me against another guy out there, and I can let it all fly," said Blair.

His strategy? "My wrestling strategy is to always stay in good position and on the attack. I try to push the pace in my matches in order to wear down my opponents. If and when we reach the third period, I know I have what it takes because I'm confident in my training and conditioning," shared Blair.

The EA Wrestling team will compete at the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) Wrestling Tournament on Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17. Wrestlers who place in the top five, in their respective weight classes, will qualify for the National Prep tournament the following weekend at Lehigh University.
