Every May, EA celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This month-long observance recognizes and honors the historical and cultural contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the United States. It is celebrated in May because it commemorates two events: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843, and the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, largely built by Chinese immigrants, on May 10, 1869.
Join the celebration! View the resources below, including a list of upcoming virtual and in-person events curated by EA Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ayinde Tate.
