Dear Upper School Families,
Happy Friday, and Happy St. Patrick's Day! It has been another busy week in the Upper School. In case you missed it, our boys' track & field team had a stellar showing at Indoor Nationals, as did our girls' track & field team.
In the arts this week, the community also came together in celebration of senior Ashley Kim's Crawford Campus Center Gallery show, Threads, which was built as an extension to her Lilley Fellowship presentation. A few of our students also shared their musical talents as part of Dr. Locke's new Conference Room Concerts, and Will Esterhai and Brooklynn Smith were selected to have their their Cappies reviews of Conestoga High School's She Loves Me selected for publication!
Also, I'd be remiss if I did not thank the entire EAPA for a fantastic Starfest event last weekend. We are so grateful for the work that they do on behalf of all of our students here at EA.
There are only four more academic days before we hit Spring Break, but those four days will be fairly busy. Early this coming week, we will begin the course selection process for the 2023-2024 academic year. Students will be able to view our Program of Studies, which includes all of the course descriptions for next year's classes, on Monday. Parents will also be able to view the program via your Parent Portal. Then, on Tuesday, we will hold our scheduling assemblies for each class and walk the students through how they actually make course selections in Veracross.
This is certainly an important process for each student and family, so we encourage the students to work closely with their advisors as they make their choices and look to pursue interests and passions. All students are pre-registered for their next courses in sequence, but if they are thinking about changes in these classes or disciplines, they should speak with their form dean, the respective discipline teacher and chair, and the College Counseling Office. As always, if you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out to your child's advisor and form dean.
Sophomore and junior families: please take note of a great College Counseling event coming up on April 11: An Insider’s Look: Holistic Admissions Revealed. Details on the program and registration information can be found here.
Have a great weekend,
Mike
