Community and Leadership

The Alumni Society is an independent association of approximately 6,000 graduates from EA. Its purpose is to represent alumni; to help connect members to each other, to classmates, and to the school; and to ensure alumni interests are represented within the EA community. With roots tracing back to 1785, it is believed to be the oldest society in the Inter-Ac League.

The Society is governed by a Board of Managers, consisting of 14 to 20 members elected or appointed for three-year terms. The Board's officers include a President, up to three Vice-Presidents, a Secretary, and a Treasurer, who are elected from among the Board members for two-year terms.

The Alumni Society engages in initiatives through its committees, including the Episcopal Academy Golf Tournament Committee, Alumni Awards Committee, Alumni Community Service Committee, Networking & Alumni Events Committee, and Mentoring Committee. The Alumni Society continues to carry on the long-time tradition of celebrating Inter-Ac championship athletic teams with congratulatory tokens.

Episcopal’s Alumni of Color Advisory Council was established in 2019 and collaborates with the Office of Alumni Engagement and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The Council has three primary goals: to create and cultivate networking opportunities, to bolster alumni engagement with the institution, and to support current students, parents, and faculty/staff of color as full and valued participants within the EA community.
