Dr. Patick Rapuano '09 is an internal medicine intern at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. In April, at the peak of the pandemic in the Philadelphia area, Pat was moving between shifts in the Intensive Care Unite (ICU) and the inpatient COVID-19 floor.
Honors Latin 3 students conducted a news segment, live and via Zoom, from Ancient Rome. Hosted by a tv news anchor, Quintus, each student played a partisan Roman character and debated the veracity of a report by Roman historian Sallust.
Upper School history and psychology teacher Lynne Hay, Hon. announced her retirement in January. Although it's disappointing not "seeing my kids in person, I'm actually having fun indulging in a unit I never feel I get to do enough in!" shared Mrs. Hay.
Using their knowledge of Virgil's The Aeneid, Tim Kent, Hon.'s Latin 3 Honors class recently helped the Frick Museum match unearthed 17th Century illustrations by Flemish artist Sebastiaen Vrancx to the corresponding passages from the Homeric epic.
"I'm so proud of this cast and crew for their ten Cappies nominations. This was a particularly difficult play to pull off and they handled it beautifully," said Theatre and Dance Department Chair Dan Clay.
