Session Leaders: Glenn Whitman and St. Andrew's School's Center for Transformational Teaching and Learning Team
Harnessing the power of gaming for professional development, the St. Andrew’s Episcopal School’s Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning, led by Glenn Whitman, will join EA in helping teachers to learn the latest research-based strategies for helping students to learn through an interactive, asynchronous platform and two in-person workshops.
Featuring a half-day, in-person kick-off on June 11 (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.), self-paced online platform work over the summer, and a follow-up evening session on August 22 (4 - 7 p.m.), the Neuroteach Global program will challenge teachers to use brain science in fostering student agency, enhancing retrieval practices and refining classroom practices through interactive text adventures, real-world missions and exposure to cutting-edge research.
Through this workshop, participants will:
- Gain access to a platform of flexible, self-paced, one-hour micro-courses that feature cognitive science-informed strategies for the classroom.
- Develop an understanding of the optimal ways to deepen learning for all students.
- Gain immediate feedback on their progress through micro-courses.
- Learn how to transform their teaching by putting strategies into practice for students.
