    EA Lacrosse beats rival Haverford 9-8 in Overtime (Lacrosse - Boys)

    Curtis Zappala took the pass from Dutch Buckley, calmly settled in and surveyed what he was up against. There aren’t too many sophomores whom coaches would trust to have the ball on their stick with the game on the line in overtime and there are even fewer sophomores who would be entrusted with that opportunity when the game is in overtime against the school’s biggest rival. Not much fazes Zappala. The Episcopal Academy attackman doesn’t seem to worry about the big moment, regardless of what the situation is, so he made sure to take that chance.     The Episcopal Academy boys' tennis team defeated Malvern Prep, 7-0, Tuesday. Singles winners for EA were Max Kane (first singles, won 6-2, 6-0); Ethan Markman (second singles, won 6-0, 6-4); and Brendan Deuoue (third singles, won 6-0, 6-4).

    Russell Rhoads '14 Named Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week (Baseball)

    A junior pitcher and infielder for the Churchmens’ baseball squad, Rhoads has had some standout performances on the mound lately. In recent back-to-back complete-game shutout victories, he allowed a total of only four hits and three walks while striking out 14 batters. Rhoads, who started playing baseball in his parents’ backyard at the age of 2, was part of a Little League team that made it to the state finals, two games away from the regional qualifier for the Little League World Series, when he was 12 years old.
