Girls' Spring Track Team Wins PAISAA Title

The EA Girls' Spring Track and Field Team won this year's Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Track and Field Championships.

In the closest girls' spring track PAISAA final in 7 years, EA clinched the title in the 18th and last event of the five-hour meet. Maddie O'Reilly '17 hurled the discus, placing 7th. That earned EA the one point it needed for the championship, edging out rival Academy of Notre Dame de Namur.

Some of the EA highlights include:

Gold-Long Jump/Margaux Paolino '16

Silver-4 x 800 Relay/Allison Lee '19, Lauren Weil '19, Molly Giles '18, and Caitlin Jorgensen '19.

Bronze-3200M/Caitlin Jorgensen '19; 300H/Kathryn Wilson '16; 100HH/Alexis Lowber ' '17.

4 x 100 Relay/Courtnie Williamson '16, Jess Shanahan '16, Molly O'Brien '17, Margaux Paolino '16.

4 x 400 Relay/Kathryn Wilson '16, Jess Shanahan '16, Margaux Paolino '16 and Lilly Shaner '17.

Sixteen independent schools took part in the meet held at The Hill School on Wednesday, May 18.

Top three PAISAA scores were EA (72), Notre Dame (71.3333), Mercersburg Academy (68).

The EA girls' team also won the PAISAA track title in 2011 and 2014.

Other Girls' Spring Track honors include:

2nd Place, Inter-Ac Championships.

New Balance Outdoor Nationals "Freshman Mile" Qualifier (Caitlin Jorgensen-9th grade; 5:12.55 in the 1600m) will compete on June 18 in Greensboro, NC.
