Episcopal Academy bids farewell to Dr. Crawford
and welcomes Mr. Clark!

We know Dr. Crawford very well.
It will be sad for us to see him go.
He has been a really good Head of School for 29 years!
Now we will get to know Mr. Clark as well.

The whole lower school gathered in chapel to meet our new Head of School.

We thought he sounded confident. He wasn't shy.
His personality was good, and he was very friendly and welcoming.

He seems like a real "CAN-do" kind of person!

He sounds like he can really do good stuff for other people.
We are happy that he's a nice man and likes kids!
We think he is really excited to do this new job!

He likes to do a lot of the same things we like to do!

He likes to think. He likes to run! He likes to read.

He even read us a story by Dr. Seuss called Oh the Places You'll Go!

He read the part about climbing a mountain. Then he asked us to help him climb the mountain as he begins his new job at Episcopal. He told us he wants to make our school the best school in the country.

We think Mr. Clark will be a terrific new Head of School!

When we met him, he had a firm handshake,
and he made us feel comfortable with him.
We wrote him letters to wish him good luck.
We told him things to encourage him, "It's our school, let's run it together!"
We also promised him, "We will help you overcome each pothole of your new job!"

He wrote our class a letter in reply:

Dear Mrs. Cannon's class:
What a great booklet you put together for me! This is the nicest thing
that has happened to me since I was named your new Headmaster.
I loved your letters, your pictures, and your drawings.
I hope that all of you will stay in school right up
through your graduation, and that you will continue to thrive
and grow and enjoy being in school at Episcopal.
I will share your letters with you right before you graduate
and we can see together just how much progress you have made.
I thank you very much for your kind words and for your confidence in me.
You have made me feel very welcome, and I look forward to being with all of you next year.
Thanks again and all the best for a great school year.

Mr. Clark

We will miss Dr. Crawford, though!

Farewell, Dr. Crawford! Welcome, Mr. Clark!
