Episcopal Academy does not discriminate in employment opportunities or practices on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability and familial affiliation or any other characteristic protected by law.

The Episcopal Academy, located in Newtown Square, PA, offers college preparatory education for more than 1,200 boys and girls from PK-12th Grade in three units: Lower, Middle and Upper schools.

More than 70 percent of Episcopal’s 194 faculty members hold advanced degrees and 95 have served the Academy for 10 years or more. Our “Mind, Body, Spirit” approach to educating children offers faculty the opportunity to serve as teachers, coaches and advisors and to develop meaningful, lasting relationships with students and with the entire school community.

Episcopal is committed to being a diverse community and is working towards becoming more diverse. Currently we have 17% faculty of color and 24% students of color. Episcopal also values socioeconomic and religious diversity and while we are an Episcopal School, we have many different faiths represented in both the faculty and student body.

Our Chapel program is required for students and teachers; it is a time to gather as a community, hear from student and faculty speakers, reflect together and learn more about each of our own faith traditions. It is time to sit still amidst the busy lives of our students and faculty.

Some characteristics we value in a teacher are:

  • Love of children
  • Expertise and passion for particular subject or discipline
  • Desire to contribute to the school community
  • Energy, patience, and a sense of humor
  • Proven dedication to and experience in education or work with children
  • Ability to be a coach, mentor, advisor
