Brianna Kelly

Even though I was born with two first names as Kelly being my Last Name, it’s kind of cool. It has so many meanings that I can’t keep up with or people just don’t even know about. In Celtic language, it means “Strong one”.  If you hand it to me, I am a strong person. In African, it means “QUEEN”. I considered myself a queen. In Irish, my name mean’s “Noble”, which I really am. In Old English, it means “noble” and “strong”. Here’s the catch, there’s a story behind my name, it is that my mom was dating this guy named Brian and when he had died and I was born, she had named my Brianna.

The root of my NAME is very complex and very hard to ask people what the root of your name means. Well, you already know the root of Brianna is “Brian” which means “noble” and even “strong”.  The root of “Anna” has the same meaning in different languages. IN Bulgarian, Latin, Old English, Italian, Greek, Dutch, German, Russian, Polish, Czechoslovakian, and even Scandinavian, this means “Very Gracious”.

My last name Kelly means that it is a popular name that is used for both male and females.  It means a “warrior” and connotes “aggressiveness” and even “strife”.  It also means “nature” especially “spring time” and “woods”. There are different theories regarding its origins; according to many people it is mainly of Gaelic origin and was originally used a surname referring to the Irish O’ Kelly clan. The name became popular as a first name for boys; it later became famous for females when the world famous Academy Award winning actress/Queen of Monaco Grace Kelly used it as a last name instead of a first name.
