Student Profiles : Kia

Hey! I’m Kia and I’m 16 years old. I am a junior at Episcopal Academy in Lower Merion, PA. I am very confident and always speak my mind. I am not afraid to try new things and I enjoy taking risks. I love all people and never discriminate. I have White friends, Black friends, Asian friends, Spanish friends, and mixed friends and I love them all. I live in West Philly but I go to school in the suburbs, so I experience the best (and worst) of both worlds. I am usually pretty relaxed and I don’t get angry easily. I love myself and I think that I am a beautiful girl. (Most people would agree.) I love to laugh and have fun and I always try to make the best of any situation. I have a very strong personality, so people either love me or hate me, but most people just love me. I am very generous and always willing to give when people are in need. I’m a pretty independent person for the most part and I do not ask a lot from people. If I could change one thing about the world, it would be the stereotypes and generalizations that we as people make against each other. If this barrier, along with just being real instead of being politically correct, can be broken down then the world could move on so much faster and go so much further.
