Thanks to winning its seventh consecutive Patriot League title, the Bucknell women's rowing team had seven All-Patriot League selections, the league office announced Wednesday. First-team picks included Katherine Anderson (Piedmont, Calif./Bentley School), Amanda Chikowski (Media, Pa./The Episcopal Academy), Emily Gladstone (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) and Jillian O'Mara (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge), while Alison Cohen (Harvards, Mass./Bromfield), Gabriella Fleming-Shemer (Austin, Texas/Stephen F. Boys Lightweight 4 Takes 5th Manny Flick

The cold and rainy weather did not slow down the Episcopal rowers at the 5th Manny Flick on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Five out of the ten boats the team raced finished 1st in their heat and three of the boats finished first in their race overall. The Boys Varsity 4 (Nick Mead, James Konopka, Ben Pusey, Paul Pratt and coxswain Jill Barton), the Boys Lightweight 4 (Jack Alden, Josh Raphaelson, Patrick Bernhardt, Michael Pettit and coxswain Katie Howlin), the Girls Lightweight 4 (Tricia Tyson, Lyssa Freese, Christine Davis, Colleen Flynn and coxswain Allison Jacoby), the Girls JV 4 ( Kelly McGowan, Caroline Purtill, Julianne Dones, Zsofia Hudak and coxswain Shreya Reddy), and the Boys Novice 4 (Guillaume Furey, Michael Hughes, John Tyson, Francis Kinniry and coxswain Leah Yao) all finished 1st in their heat and the Girls Lightweight 4, the Girls JV4 and the Boys Novice 4 all finished first in their overall races. The Girls Varsity Double (Alexis Hawkins and Maggie Familetti) took 2nd in their race and the Girls Varsity Quad (Cluny McPherson, Belle Kielty, Robyn Farrell and Jordan Marinchak) finished 3rd in their race.

EA Girls' Lightweight Four Wins Manny Flick

The Episcopal Academy Girls Lightweight 4 (Tricia Tyson, Lyssa Freese, Christine Davis, Caroline Purtill, and coxswain Katie Howlin) won their race at the fourth Manny Flick race on Sunday. The boat finished 13 seconds ahead of the second place Merion Mercy boat and had a race time that was faster than all of the boats in the other Lightweight 4 heats. The Girls Varsity Quad (Cluny Mc Pherson, Belle Kielty, Robyn Farrell, and Jordan Marinchak) finished first in their heat beating out Our Lady of Mercy. The Girls Varsity Double (Alexis Hawkins and Maggie Familetti) came in second in their heat. The Boys Varsity 8 (Nick Mead, James Konopka, Ben Pusey, Paul Pratt, Patrick Bernhardt, Josh Raphaelson, Jack Alden, Mike Pettit and coxswain Jill Barton) earned an impressive third place finish after rivals St. Joseph Prep and La Salle. Episcopal Rowers Perform Well at the C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints

Crew Coach Rob Maier and four Episcopal rowers spent their President's Weekend at the 30th annual World Indoor Rowing Championships (also known as the C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints) in Boston, Massachusetts. Held on Sunday, February 19th, in Boston University’s Agannis Arena, attracted over 2,300 athletes from 24 countries to race 2000 meters on rowing machines before a record crowd of 8,000 spectators.
