2013 Season Recap
The 2013 girls' water polo team enjoyed another great season. Under the leadership of co-captains Connie Maltby and Natalie Stuart, the team experienced immense growth. After weeks of pre-season training, we were ready to compete. In mid- September, we participated in the largest HS water polo tournament outside of California, the "Beast of the East Tournament." Playing 5 games in 24 hours, proved to be a turning point in our season. We had a great 8-7 win against Hill and a close game against state powerhouse, Souderton High School. Winning 3 out of 5 games that weekend solidified that it would be dedication and heart that would carry this year's team. Day in and day out this special group of girls embodied what it means to be an EA athlete. This year's team blended a small number of experienced upperclassman with a larger group of hardworking and talented underclassman. Emma Vadot and Sophomore, Lily Kuntz led our defense, while Juniors Maddie O’Reilly and Heidi Zirnkilton headed the offense. Skyler Schork and Caroline Cooke served as solid players on both sides of the ball. Overcoming some difficult losses throughout the year, the team persevered and battled hard in each and every competition. Together we are confident that this year’s team paved the way for future girl’s water polo players at Episcopal. We will miss our seniors, and wish them the best of luck!
