    Episcopal field hockey suffers first loss of season

    After starting the season with 18 straight wins, the Episcopal Academy field hockey lost to the nation's No. 1 team, Eastern (N.J.) High School. Still one of the nation's best teams, EA will turn its attention to excelling in the five remaining Inter-Ac League games and the upcoming independent school state playoffs.     Dee Barlee’s record-setting night leads EA over Penn Charter

    Dee Barlee, Episcopal Academy’s star junior tailback, rushed for 296 yards and five TDs in the Churchmen’s 41-26 win over Penn Charter. Barlee's 296 yards rushing is a new EA single-game record, breaking the previous mark of 266 yards by Kyle Eckel in 1998. The victory improved EA to 5-3 on the season.     Genevieve McCormick '15 is the Main Line Girls Athlete of the Week

    An All-Inter-Ac tennis player the past two seasons, McCormick, a senior co-captain, is a standout at first singles for the Churchwomen (9-0 as of Oct. 13) and is a winner in the classroom as well, posting a 3.97 grade-point average and receiving the Confucius Scholar Award for Academic Excellence in Mandarin Chinese.     EA field hockey ready to battle nation’s No. 1 team

    This Saturday at 6 p.m., two of the finest field hockey teams in the country will be on the same field when the undefeated Episcopal Academy, ranked No. 2 in the country by topofthecircle.com and No. 3 by Max Field Hockey, travels to Voorhees, N.J. to take on the nation’s No.1 team, Eastern High School. Eastern enters this weekend’s game vs. Episcopal in the midst of a 93-game winning streak, but EA is looking forward to testing its mettle against the nation’s best.     Episcopal Academy field hockey team is ranked sixth in nation

    The Episcopal Academy field hockey team is off to a 15-0 start this fall and has outscored its opponents, 84-3. Those eye-popping numbers have caught the eye of opposing field hockey coaches as well as the editors of Max Field Hockey, who have Gina Buggy’s gifted squad ranked No. 6 in the country.
