  • Karen Christianson '13 Named Main Line Student of the Week

    Christianson, a senior, has made her mark in two fields: music and science. In February, she became the youngest soloist ever to give an organ recital at Westminster Abbey. Three days earlier, she became the first female (and first American) to give an organ recital at Eton College Chapel. Christianson was selected as a semifinalist of the Intel Science Talent Search (one of only eight in Pennsylvania), then won first place in her category (Life Sciences) at the recent Pennsylvania Junior Science and Humanities Symposium and second place overall, and was selected to present her research again at the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, sponsored by the US Department of Defense, May 1-5 in Dayton, Ohio.   • Inter A Cappella Concert at EA

    The Annual Inter A Cappella concert will take place in the Class of 1944 Chapel on Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 PM. The concert will feature the select a cappella ensembles from Episcopal Academy, Haverford School, Shipley School, Baldwin & Agnes Irwin. Admission is free and tickets are not required. It is always a fun night of music that has been a tradition for many years. We hope to see many from the EA community there.

  • Jake Aronchick ’13 Participates in Region 6 Orchestral Festival

    From March 22-24, Jake Aronchick ’13 participated in the PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association) Region 6 Orchestral Festival. This very competitive festival is comprised of student musicians from Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia, and Delaware counties, who successfully passed a second-level audition at the District 12 Orchestra Festival in February. Out of the original 50+ cellists who auditioned, he earned 5th chair.

    Join us on February 9th for our annual celebration of students' award winning work in Art, Music and Dance. The night starts off at 6:00 PM in the Crawford Campus Center's Gallery with an Artist Reception. Then we are off to the Mainstage Theater to enjoy the outstanding music of the Dora Khayatt student winners followed by our Episcopal Academy Dance Company presenting their dance concert, The Alternative. Curtain at 7:00 PM.

    By invitation of American Ambassador Theodore Sedgwick in Bratislava, Slovakia, members of Episcopal Academy’s Vocal Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble performed in Bratislava and Vienna, Austria. This opportunity was made possible due to a connection between Head of School L. Hamilton Clark and the Ambassador.
