Admission Process and Timeline

Overview of the Admission Process for Pre-Kindergarten through Upper School

The Episcopal Academy does not discriminate in the admission process on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or familial affiliation.

To assist you in completing your child’s application, please refer to the following steps. An application is not complete and ready for review until all of the pieces have been received in the Admission Office.

For applicants who have completed the admission process by December 15th, decisions will be communicated by the end of January. We ask for a response by March 1st. Subsequent admission decisions are made on a rolling basis, as space permits.

Students who are qualified for admission but for whom there is no room in the grade are placed in a Wait Pool. When an opening in the grade becomes available, the Admission Committee considers all the children in the Wait Pool for that grade and offers admission to the student who best compliments the class.

The Admission Process - Step by Step

Application

A file is started and the admission process begins when the application and $50.00 application fee are received in the Admission Office. Applicants can apply via hard copy or on line. If applying by hard copy, a login and temporary password will be sent to you once the application is received by the Admission Office. This will enable you to check the status of your child’s application online.

Appointment with an Admission Officer

Please be sure to schedule an appointment with an Admission Officer by calling 484-424-1444 or email: admission@episcopalacademy.org. This meeting allows you to discuss your educational goals for your child and enables you to learn more about Episcopal.

Teacher Forms

Please note: It is important that the teacher Report Form not be distributed until November, as teachers need time to work with your child in the new school year. Forms filled out prior to November 1 are not helpful to the Admission Committee.

For PK - 5th grade: Please give Teacher Report Form to child's current teacher or appropriate school administrator.

For 6th - 12th grades: Please give Math and English/Language Arts recommendation forms to current teachers.

Report Card and Transcript Release Form

For 2nd - 12th grades: AFTER Nov. 1 give the release form to the administrators at your child's school. They will forward copies of your child's current year grades, comments, and any standardized test scores.

Testing

1st through 5th grade applicants take an independent psychological test which can be administered at one of several different agencies which are familiar with Episcopal. Applicants for 6th - 12th grade take a standardized admission test, the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam - www.iseetest.org) or the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test - www.ssat.org). All tests must be scheduled by the family.

Student Visit

It is necessary for your child to visit Episcopal. Visits begin in October. You can arrange a visit by calling the Admission Office.
